"WE NEED YOUR HELP" During the days of March 19 thru 23, 2008 our club was damaged beyond repair by close to record level flooding. After 80 years in our building its time to say goodbye. We have ground in side the new Valley Park levee system and plan to rebuild on the site. Our flood insurance will only cover a small part of getting this accomplished. This is why ?WE NEED YOUR HELP?. The cost of the New Building and Contents will be close to if not over $350,000.00. We are asking for YOUR HELP with Donations to assist us in meeting our goal. With your help the Valley Park Lions will continue to support the children and our community long into the future. Donations of $1-$5-$10 dollars or any amount you can send is appreciated!! ?SOME VALLEY PARK LION HISTORY? The Valley Park Lions Club has been a service to the community since 1928. We have contributed to our community by donations and civic activities. But our main priority is the Eye-Glasses for Children program that we the Lions sponsor. Some of donations and civic actives over the 80 years include, donating ground to the City of Valley Park which now is Brignole Park, donating the first fire truck to the Valley Park Volunteer Fire Department and contributing to the Valley Park School District Scholarship Fund. Some civic activates include the Lions Club annual Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Party/Meet Santa for the children of the community. We are proud of our environmental contributions by being a Member of Missouri Clean Stream Act, by serving the Clean Stream volunteers with free breakfast, at our club's facility for many years. We have been twice honored by the State of Missouri for our environmental contributions and deeds. Without you and our fundraising activities, such as Trivia Night, Good Friday Fish Fry, Candy Days and All You Can Eat Breakfast, we would not be able to continue our program in purchasing eye-glasses for the children, donations and civic activities for our community. ?WE NEED YOUR HELP?
